These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Worthline, governing your use of worthline.io and everything on it — the calculator, saved ledgers, the anonymous map, and Founding Member subscriptions. By using Worthline, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
By accessing or using Worthline — including simply using the calculator without an account — you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you use Worthline on behalf of yourself only (Worthline does not currently support organizational or business accounts), you confirm you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
Worthline is a personal-finance calculator that estimates your net worth, adjusts it for your country and current inflation, and compares it — anonymously and in aggregate — to other users and to published national statistics (e.g. Federal Reserve, ONS, Bundesbank).
Worthline is a self-reported tool. We do not verify the numbers you enter, connect to your bank accounts, or independently audit anyone's finances. Percentiles, FIRE projections, and debt-payoff estimates are statistical approximations based on the data described in our Privacy Policy and are provided for informational and educational purposes only.
You must be at least 16 years old to use Worthline, consistent with our Privacy Policy. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that any information you provide is accurate.
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. We may require a password reset, or suspend an account, if we detect activity that looks like a compromise or automated abuse.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us, as described in our Privacy Policy. Deleting your account also cancels any active Founding Member subscription associated with it (see Section 09).
All figures are estimates built on the assumptions and public data sources disclosed on the site (e.g. a standard 4% withdrawal rule for FIRE calculations, published national inflation rates, self-reported wealth survey data). Real outcomes depend on factors Worthline cannot know or model — your full financial picture, risk tolerance, taxes, local regulations, and market conditions among them.
Before making any financial decision, consult a licensed, qualified professional (a financial advisor, accountant, or attorney) who can review your specific circumstances. You are solely responsible for any decisions you make using information from Worthline.
If you opt into the map, your data is included only in aggregate, k-anonymous regional statistics, as described in our Privacy Policy. You retain the right to remove yourself at any time.
If you post a "Paint the Map" opinion pin or any other user-generated content, you agree it will be respectful, non-defamatory, and won't contain hate speech, harassment, illegal content, or spam. We reserve the right to remove any content, and suspend or terminate accounts, that violate this standard, at our sole discretion.
Worthline offers a paid "Founding Member" subscription, billed monthly or yearly at the price shown at checkout, processed securely by our third-party payment provider. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
Where offered, new Founding Member subscribers may receive a free trial period (currently 7 days) before the first charge. Key terms:
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account's Billing tab. Cancelling stops future renewals — it does not immediately end your current billing period. You'll keep Founding Member access until the end of the period you already paid for (or, if cancelling during a free trial, until the trial ends), after which your account reverts to the Free plan.
Except where required by law, payments already made are non-refundable, including partial periods. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we'll review it in good faith.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate access for anyone who violates this section, without prior notice where the violation is serious (e.g. security abuse or fraud).
Worthline's design, code, branding, and original content are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the personal financial data you enter (your ledger entries), but grant us a limited license to process and display it back to you, and — only if you opt in — to include it in anonymous, aggregated map statistics as described in our Privacy Policy.
Worthline relies on third-party providers to operate — including our payment processor, hosting provider, Google (for sign-in and spam protection), an AI provider (for Founding Member insights), and map-tile providers. Your use of features tied to these providers may also be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or acts of these third parties, though we choose them carefully and monitor for issues.
Worthline is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including — to the fullest extent permitted by law — warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any calculation, percentile, or projection will be accurate or suitable for your circumstances. See also Section 05 (Not financial advice).
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Worthline and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or financial opportunity, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Worthline will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) 50 USD.
You agree to indemnify and hold Worthline and its operator harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, misuse of the service, or content you submit (such as map opinion pins).
We may suspend or terminate your access to Worthline at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms, poses a security risk, or for extended account inactivity. You may stop using Worthline and delete your account at any time, as described in Section 04.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 05, 11, 13, 14, 15, and 17 — will continue to apply after your account is closed.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the laws of your own country of residence. Any dispute arising from these Terms will first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us directly.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify active accounts via the in-app notification system. Continuing to use Worthline after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Worthline is built and operated by one person. For any question about these Terms, reach out directly — every message is read personally.
Reach out any time — you'll hear back from a real person, not a support queue.
